ABOUT 17700 BOONVILLE RD , BOONVILLE, CA 95415
Anderson Valley Brewing Company (AVBC) is among the pioneers in the California craft brewing. Founded on December 26th, 1987 in the town of Boonville, CA, AVBC began with a modest 10-barrel brewhouse located in the lower level of the The Buckhorn Saloon. At the time, AVBC was one of only 20 craft breweries in the country and would go on to be one of the early contributors to what is now regarded as craft beer. AVBC moved down the road to a 29-acre property at the gateway of Boonville in the beautiful Mendocino County. The property houses a brewhouse with separate 100-barrel and 85-barrel boil kettles as well a 9-barrel pilot system, and annual fermentation capacity of potentially 100,000 barrels. The "beer park" has been developed to contain not only a tap room but a 10,000 sq ft lounge lawn, an unknown number of fairy doors hidden in tree trunks, an outdoor music stage and is home to the first 18-hole disc golf course ever to be built at a brewery. Finally, the brewery is the world's first solar powered brewery and considered to be one of the most sustainable beer production facilities in the world, operating its own self-contained water use and treatment cycle.
