The business was founded in humble beginnings in the North West in 1983. At this time, owner Richard Free would spend his week gathering stock by hunting at flea markets and church sales, travelling down to London each weekend to sell the clothing at Camden and Greenwich markets. Following the expansion and success of the first few Pop Boutique stores, as well as the wholesale business, we began to create a new line of clothing to sit alongside our carefully selected vintage pieces and keep up with the demand for certain items. The first Pop Boutique collection began with cord and denim flares and went on to sell out many times over. This line has since expanded to a twice a year 20-30 piece collection to fill the gaps in demand of the vintage clothing. Our Leeds store was the next to open in 2008 and can still be found at the same location today.

Dr. Martens now-iconic air-cushioned sole was designed by a German inventor, Dr. Klaus Maertens. But while their sole may be German, their soul is undeniably British. British shoe-makers, R Griggs and Co, bought the rights to that air-cushioned sole. Added in the iconic yellow stitch and grooves. Fastened the scripted heel-loop. Rory Gittins, Director
Rory is a Director in the agency team at Cited. With over 8 years of experience he has been involved in a range of transactions acting for both owners and occupiers. Josh Gettins
Starting his career in 2018, Josh has 5 years of both agency and client-side experience. Josh started a degree apprenticeship at Kingston University while working for London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) an Asset Manager where he managed a retail portfolio of c.£40m.

Joining Cited in November 2021, Josh continued his apprenticeship and graduated with a degree in Real Estate Management in 2022.

Alongside Tim Lloyd, Josh advises Claire’s Accessories on all their UK lease renewals, regears and new store acquisitions, while also acting for national landlords such as Evolve Estates, Associated British Foods, Threadneedle and Capital & Regional leasing and disposing of assets within their respective portfolios.
Phil Coombes, Director/Owner
Phil Coombes is the Director and Owner of CN PROP, an independent commercial property consultancy he founded with Chris Nutter in 2022. Phil oversees leasing, acquisitions, asset management, and placemaking initiatives for the company. He has worked with a wide range of fantastic property developers, landlords, and operators, such as Glenbrook, Renaker, Vita Group, the University of Manchester, and more. Prior to founding CN PROP, Phil served as Director for Barker Proudlove and Associate Director for Savills. Mr. Coombes received his degree in Real Estate Management from Nottingham Trent University.
