To the west the site adjoins Bronwydd Park which has close associations with Bronwydd House which was originally constructed by W D Thomas for William Evans, a local philanthropist, in 1914. The park features tennis courts, a bowling green, a war memorial and open air swimming baths that were constructed in the late 1930s and subsequently converted into an indoor facility. The north of the site abuts a relatively modern residential development known as Tynycymmer Close. To the east the site borders an access lane to Tynycymmer Lodge.
