The woodlands, which form a significant part of the subjects, were established approximately 20 years ago. The total woodland area is 30.31 Ac (12.27 Ha) being predominantly mixed broadleaves 17.90ac (7.24 Ha) and spruce/larch mix 10.60 Ac (4.28 Ha) with an area of open spaced spruce 4.28 Ac (0.75 Ha).
The site benefits from substantial areas of midrotation conifers 12.42 Ac (5.03 Ha) and broadleaves extending to 18.71 Ac (7.57 Ha) of woodland planting. A compartment schedule is detailed in the brochure. The site is not subject to any current forestry grant schemes or a forest plan.
The spruce is at a stage which would benefit from thinning from a commercial perspective. Additionally, the broadleaves could be further enhanced with a programme of selective thinning and high pruning where appropriate. The woodlands provide an excellent screen to the chalets and fishings, enhancing the amenity for future uses.
The ponds comprise three man-made areas extending to 5.26 Ac (2.587 Ha) in total. These have been well laid out for bank fishing and also provide a haven for a wide range of wildlife and bird species.
