Invergordon is a town and port in Ross and Cromarty in the Highlands of Scotland. The town is situated 23 miles north of Inverness via the busy A9 and 12 miles south west from the highly successful Fabrication and Renewable Hub at Nigg. The town has a long history which continues today for the repair of oil rigs which line up in the Cromarty Firth on which the town is situated. The Port of Invergordon has a resident population of approximately 4000 persons however the town swells dramatically with up to 100,000 cruise passengers and crew members each year between Easter and October. Most cruises disembark at Admiralty Pier, which is 500 metres from the High Street where all main shops and services are situated.
